New Assignment: Future Foods Expert for the Asian Productivity Organization

I am pleased to announce that I have just taken on a new assignment as a Future Foods Expert/Resource Person for the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) online course, Future Food: Exploring Business Opportunities.

The Asian Productivity Organization (APO) was established on 11 May 1961 as a regional intergovernmental organization. APO membership is open to countries in Asia and the Pacific which are members of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP). The current membership is 20 economies, comprising Bangladesh, Cambodia, Republic of China, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Republic of Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. These countries/economies pledge to assist each other in their productivity drives in a spirit of mutual cooperation by sharing knowledge, information, and experience.

I will be assisting the APO in developingĀ an online course that builds knowledge of alternative food sources, collectively called “future food,” to meet the demand for increased global consumption. The Future Food: Exploring Business Opportunities course will provide a chance to expand the scope of innovative business opportunities involving future food for APO member countries.

  • The concept of and trends in future food;

  • Novel ideas for alternative food sources to take advantage of business
    opportunities in the blue ocean industry as applicable to APO member countries.

The target participants for the e-course are farmers, rural leaders, entrepreneurs, and SMEs in primary industry who want to explore agricultural and sea resources for food businesses in future; and consultants, trainers, and professionals engaged in novel, innovative business development advisory services.

If you have any suggestions for case studies that should be featured in the course, please let me know!
